Miss Claire

I had the privilege of photographing Megan and Mcgee's gorgeous baby girl Claire. She was the perfect little subject!! I love it when they are so little and squishy! She reminded me so much of my little ones. Little Spider Monkey is what I used to tell Owen!! It was too funny... the minute we took her diaper off she TOTALLY filled her Daddy's shoes!! We were all laughing so hard there was no help for Dad! I always think its so funny! Also... I am posting a color image of her... I normally don't do color for newborns but this one was too yummy to resist! I look forward to watching her grow over the next year!!

Edited to spell McGee's name right!! Yes I am a DOPE! LOL

This has been in the works for quite some time now and I am finally proud to see it go public!!! There are two passions that I have outside photography - writing and teaching. Kyleigh's Silver Ribbon Campaign

I wear a silver ribbon. It is an outward sign of the inner turmoil that I face everyday as the parent of a VACTERL child. It is a small but powerful reminder that our lives will never be the same. It takes my breath away. I never thought that I would wear a ribbon and certainly not for my daughter... but here I am and I wear my ribbon so that people will ASK. I need everyone to know how hard my princess has to fight to stay here with us.

I wear a silver ribbon to convince myself that some day we will have a normal life and be able to tell Kyleigh the story of the ribbon and why its so special.

I wear a silver ribbon to remind me how precious life is. In remembrance of the VACTERL angels who are no longer with us.

Most of all I wear a silver ribbon to remind myself to HOPE for a better day tomorrow.

Everyone asks me what can they do to help our family? .

I have one simple favor to ask... on October 24 wear a silver ribbon. Wear it for me and for Kyleigh and for hope.

Feel free to print this out and share it with your friends and loved ones!! I invite anyone to email us directly if you would like to receive silver ribbons!! I have an amazing friend Kim Townsend who has been working furiously creating the beautiful silver ribbons.

Email us at : schmidt.amber@kentuckystudio.com if you would like to receive postcards and/or ribbons! Please specify in your email your name, address, and number of cards / ribbons you would like!!!

October 24 and 25 will be challenging days for us. I am scared to death that we are going to face a reality that we have been able to put off for over a year now. Just knowing that we will have people out there wearing these ribbons and praying for us will make all the difference in the world!!!

You can read even more about this on Kim's blog: Simply Splash

Ali & Danny

On September 22 we had the privilege of photographing Ali (McGee) & Danny Kelly's wedding. We had great fun getting to know Ali and Danny and only wish that we had had more time with them!! Here's their engagement session. These images were taken just a week or so before their wedding and it was so fun to see the anticipation on their faces!

Anna & Collin

I had the privilege of photographing Anna and Collin's Engagement at Keeneland. They are truly a gem of a couple! Collin is a riot... I was bummed that he didn't wear the plaid shorts!!! (Do I get to photograph the plaid shorts eventually?)

Anna and Collin will be married next August and I am so glad that I get to spend time with their wedding planning for a whole year!! YAY!

What has blonde hair, blue eyes, a severe Kentucky twang, and SEVEN STAPLES????

You guessed it! 1 Mister Roscoe P Cotrain!!! (Otherwise known as Ross, Rossy P, Roscoe P..... etc.)

He fell off the bed (all of 1.5 feet to the ground) around 6 am and gashed his head and we spent all AM in the ER getting him put back together! Yes so goes the story of my life! If I write a book will you all buy it??? LOL
